An off-road adventure is often a fascinating experience. However, it can be scary, especially if you don’t know the basics. You need to take some few minutes to prepare yourself and the vehicle. Here are critical steps you might want to consider.

Know Your Vehicle

Take the vehicle’s manufacturer’s manual and read through it to help you know how it works. For instance, you need to determine whether the vehicle has a high or low ground clearance. A vehicle with a good off-road ability should have a higher ground clearance. The manual will also help you understand how to lock the vehicle in four-wheel drive and when to apply it.

Tried-and-true nature events such as bird walks, ranger-led hikes and wildlife viewing tours will never go out of fashion at national wildlife refuges. Like your nature a bit offbeat? Some national wildlife refuges have read your mind.

DEATH VALLEY, CA – There will be a limited number of opportunities this spring to visit Scotty’s Castle. This is a unique opportunity to witness the damage caused by a large flash flood and to learn about the National Park Service’s ongoing work to restore the historic district.

Scotty’s Castle Flood Recovery Tours will be offered twice a day on March 5, March 12, March 19, March 26 and April 2.

The stars provided the only light in the dark skies as we finished loading the truck.  Orion’s Belt stood out among the stars with nary a hint of clouds.  By the time we reached the boat launch area, the lights from Mountain Home AFB provided a bright glow in the western sky while the hint of a rising sun was visible in the eastern sky.  The waters of CJ Strike Reservoir were dark as we loaded the boat and set out for the marsh area.  We had a lot of work to do before sunrise and the beginning flights of ducks.

November 14, 2016 - That title isn’t joking. This post is aimed at my liberal readers. I’m a libertarian leaning Republican and gun expert, who thinks you are wrong about a lot of stuff, but I’m not writing this to gloat about your loss. For the record, I disliked all the presidential candidates.

Judging by your social media over the last few days many liberals have been utterly terrified that your government might turn tyrannical or that evil people will now be emboldened to hurt you. I’m going to let you in on a little thing the other half of the country is familiar with to keep those unlikely, yet catastrophic, events from happening.
