Fire Below!

Skid plate - Aftermath of the skid plate fire that nearly destroyed a Jeep Unlimited.

Jim and his buddy Tim were doing a pre-run on permitted but seldom-used trails in the vicinity of Tonopah, Nev. back in August. They stopped to check the map and both noticed the smell of burning grass. They did a 360 inspection and found nothing. Wildfires blazed in the Sierras, but were too far away to be the source for this odor. They resumed their drive.

Why I Fight to Preserve Everyone’s Off-Roading Right

Pack it in, Pack it out OR Lose the Right to use it!
The Sad but Real Truth about the Endangered Off-Road Lifestyle

Hi, my name is Audrey Mason.  I have been an active off-roader my entire life. I currently ride a Honda 400ex, and cruise in an YJ jeep with my husband K.J. Mason. Is the clock ticking?

During their leisure time, people have the freedom to engage in a variety of activities and outdoor recreation is very popular. Some recreationists are informed and experienced; others are uninformed and inexperienced.

When I use the term "uninformed recreationist", I am referring to the guy that is gung-ho on going anywhere at anytime without a care in the world for what he is doing. Someone that has the attitude that they "own" the land and their rights comes first, above all.
